- Fall protection, (g)(1). Each employee more than 10 feet above a lower level must be protected from falling, through guardrails, a personal fall arrest system, or the combination the standard specifies for that scaffold type.
- Safe access, (e)(1). When a platform is more than 2 feet above or below a point of access, the standard permits listed access methods including ladders, ramps, walkways, stair towers, qualifying integral access, and qualifying direct access. Crossbraces may not be used as a means of access.

- Suspension rope capacity, (a)(4).
