About This Site

SafetyRecord.org provides access to publicly available workplace safety inspection records from the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). This product uses the DOL Data API but is not endorsed or certified by the DOL. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to OSHA or the Department of Labor in any way.

Data Accuracy

All inspection, violation, penalty, and chemical exposure sampling data displayed on this site is sourced from the DOL's public enforcement database. OSHA Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) values are sourced from the OSHA Occupational Chemical Database. While we strive for the most comprehensive and accurate database possible, errors in data processing or establishment matching are possible. We make no guarantees regarding:

  • The completeness of records for any given establishment
  • The accuracy of establishment matching (some businesses may appear under multiple name variations)
  • Whether displayed penalty amounts reflect final amounts after settlement or judicial review
  • The completeness of chemical exposure sampling data or PEL reference values
  • The timeliness of data relative to the most current OSHA records

For official and authoritative records, visit osha.gov.

Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

SafetyRecord.org displays publicly available enforcement records about business establishments, not about individuals. This site is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq., and the information provided here does not constitute a "consumer report."

The data on this site may not be used as a factor in determining any individual's eligibility for employment, insurance, credit, housing, or any other purpose covered by the FCRA. Employers and other entities making decisions about individuals must use FCRA-compliant sources and follow applicable legal requirements.

Federal OSHA Data Only

This site displays enforcement data from federal OSHA only. Approximately half of U.S. states and territories operate their own OSHA-approved State Plans with separate enforcement agencies and databases. States with approved State Plans (including but not limited to California, Washington, Michigan, Oregon, Minnesota, and others) conduct their own inspections that may not appear in federal OSHA records.

An employer's record on this site may therefore be incomplete if the employer operates in a state with an approved State Plan. For a complete enforcement history, check both federal OSHA records and the relevant state agency. A full list of State Plans is available at osha.gov/stateplans.
