Data Corrections
If you believe any data on SafetyRecord.org is inaccurate, we want to hear from you. We take data accuracy seriously and will investigate all reports of factual errors.
We aim to review and respond to all correction requests within 5 business days.
Types of Issues We Can Address
We can fix:
- Incorrect company name matching (inspections assigned to the wrong company)
- Errors in our data processing or display
- Outdated information that does not reflect current government records
- Technical issues with pages not loading or displaying correctly
We cannot change:
- Data that accurately reflects what appears in the DOL/OSHA database
- Inspection or violation records that you dispute with OSHA (contact OSHA directly)
- Penalty amounts that were later reduced through settlement (we display the assessed amount as recorded)
Our Corrections Policy
SafetyRecord.org displays publicly available government records. Our policy is to correct inaccurate data, not to remove accurate public records. If the data on our site accurately reflects what appears in the DOL enforcement database, we are unable to remove it, as this information is part of the public record.
If you believe a record in the government database itself is incorrect, we recommend contacting your local OSHA Area Office to request a correction at the source.
Adding Context
If you are a business owner and would like to provide context about an inspection or violation on your record (such as noting that a penalty was reduced through settlement, or that corrective actions were taken), please contact us. We may add factual context where appropriate and verifiable.
