About these figures
- Source: U.S. Department of Labor OSHA enforcement data. The four totals at the top count establishments by their primary location. The year chart, inspection types, citation types and standards count by the state on each inspection record (57,620 inspections on that basis, 57,618 on the establishment basis).
- Citations are violation items as DOL records them, deleted items excluded. The citation types count by the state on each inspection record: 133,019 citations on that basis (133,019 on the establishment basis), of which 2 carry another or no type code, so the four types do not add up to either total. Current penalties are amounts after any reductions.
- Having OSHA inspection records is common for businesses in regulated industries.

We strive for accuracy, but errors in data processing or establishment grouping are possible. Penalty amounts reflect the latest penalty amounts on record in the DOL database and may differ from initial assessments or final amounts after informal conference, settlement, or judicial review. Company pages group inspection records by normalized employer name, city, and state as reported in OSHA records.
